Indoor: Set a season best in the mile with a time of 4:16.10 as he placed third at the Weber State Invitational… Finished second in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:29.95 at the Idaho State-hosted Snake River Open… Academic All-Mountain West honoree… MW Scholar-Athlete… USU Whitesides Scholar-Athlete.
Outdoor: Did not compete during the outdoor season.
HIGH SCHOOL: An eight-time letterwinner in cross country and track & field at Hurricane HS in Utah… Was the 2020 Utah Class 4A cross country individual state champion (three mile, 15:24.5), helping Hurricane to a third-place finish… Was the 2021 Utah Class 4A track & field state champion in 800 meters (1:54.98) and 1,600 meters (4:15.38), while also placing third in the 3,200 meters (9:38.55)… At the 2019 state track & field meet, placed second in the 800 meters and third in the 3,200 meters… At state cross country meets, finished sixth in 2017, sixth in 2018 and eighth in 2019… A four-year letterwinner in wrestling at Hurricane HS as he went undefeated (36-0) his senior season and had a 171-18 overall record, claiming individual state championships in 2020 and 2021, while taking third in 2019 and second in 2018… Academic All-State in cross country, track & field and wrestling all four years… Graduated first in his class of approximately 350.
PERSONAL: Son of Phillip and Paula Armstrong… Has seven siblings… Married Madelyn Armstrong in May 2024… Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Madrid, Spain from 2021-2023… Brother, Caleb Armstrong, is a member of USU’s cross country and track & field programs… Majoring in kinesiology.
