Indoor: Won the 800-meter title and placed second in the DMR and fourth in the 4x400-meter relay at the Mountain West Indoor Championships, finishing in times of 1:52.38, a personal-best 9:42.46 and 3:15.72, respectively… Set a personal best in the 600 meters with a time of 1:19.70 as he placed third at the Nevada Invitational… Part of USU’s winning DMR team at the Weber State Invitational, finishing in 10:14.26… Won the 1,000 meters at the BYU December Invitational in a personal-best 2:24. 82.
Outdoor: Finished 22nd in the quarterfinals of the 800 meters at the NCAA West First Rounds with a time of 1:48.71… Claimed the 800-meter title and finished seventh in the 4x400-meter relay at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships, finishing in 1:49.68 and 3:17.91, respectively… Finished first in the 800 meters at the Long Beach State-hosted Beach Invitational with a time of 1:48.63… Set a personal best in the 800 meters with a time of 1:47.11 as he placed second at the Azusa Pacific-hosted Bryan Clay Invitational… Ran a personal-best time of 48.07 in the 400 meters at the Utah-Weber State Spring Classic, finishing sixth.

Indoor: Set personal records as he took second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:48.81, which ranks third all-time in school history and finished fifth in the 4x400-meter relay (3:15.63) while setting a season best as he won the DMR (10:07.76) at the Mountain West Indoor Championships… Set a personal best in the 400 meters with a time of 49.51 as he placed second at the Weber State Invitational… Won the 800 meters at the Idaho State-hosted Snake River Open (1:51.18) and the New Mexico Team Open (1:49.05)… Named Mountain Men’s Track and Freshman Athlete of the Week on Jan. 30.
Outdoor: Placed 18th in the quarterfinals of the 800 meters with a time of 1:49.78 at the NCAA West First Rounds, after setting a season best with a time of 1:48.40, which ranks fourth in school history, as he placed 17th in the event in the first round… Earned silver in the 800 meters with a time of 1:49.52 and finished fifth in the 4x400-meter relay with a personal best time of 3:14.84 at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships… Set a season best in the 400 meters with a time of 48.20 as he took fourth at the Utah State-hosted Aggie Invitational… Named USU Walk-On of the Year at annual U-Star Awards Banquet… Recognized as 2023 USU Track & Field Male Freshman of the Year.

HIGH SCHOOL: A seven-time letterwinner in track & field and cross country at Woods Cross (Utah) High School… Won Utah Class 5A state championships in the 400 meters (48.78) and 4x400-meter relay (3:21.74), while taking third in the 800 meters (1:55.46) and 4x800-meter relay (8:01.71) as a senior in 2021, helping Woods Cross to a fourth-place team finish… Recorded a personal best in the 5K with a time of 15:50 as a senior… Helped Woods Cross to a second-place finish in 2020 cross country region meet and a second-place finish at the 2021 track & field region meet… Named Woods Cross High School MVP… Played soccer at Woods Cross HS, totaling five goals and seven assists as he earned a letter… Earned the Regents Scholarship and was an honor roll student.

PERSONAL: Son of Ryan and Emily Bott… Has four siblings… Served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Dominican Republic in 2021-2023… Cousin, Tessa Buswell, is a freshman on BYU’s cross country and track & field teams… Majoring in mechanical engineering.
