2021 (SR)
Indoor: Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Outdoor: Earned first-team all-Mountain West honors after placing third in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 40.91 at the Outdoor Championships, where he also finished eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 49.69 and ran a leg on the 4x400-meter relay team… Placed third in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 21.82 at the Utah State-hosted Aggie Invitational, where he also finished fifth in the 100 meters with a career-best time of 11.03… Ran career-best time of 48.37 in the 400 meters at the Utah Valley Collegiate Invitational, placing second in the event… Won the UVU Collegiate Invite 4x100-meter relay with a time of 3:14.03… Earned academic all-MW honors.

2020 (JR)
Indoor: Did not compete during the season.
Outdoor: Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2017 (SO)
Indoor: Placed 11th and 13th in the prelims of the 400 meters and 200 meters at the Mountain West Indoor Championships with personal-best times of 48.83 and 22.01, respectively… Finished in the top-five three times, including placing first in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:18.57 at the Montana State Invitational… Set personal bests of 7.07 in the 60 meters at the Boise State-hosted Jacksons/New Balance Invitational and 3:16.56 in the 4x400-meter relay at the New Mexico-hosted Don Kirby Invitational.
Outdoor: Earned first-team all-Mountain West honors after placing third in the 4x100-meter relay (41.18) at the Outdoor Championships, where he also finished eighth in the 400 meters (53.31)… Finished 12th in the prelims of the 200 meters with a season-best time of 21.89 at the Outdoor Championships… Captured first place in the 4x400-meter relay with a career-best time of 3:10.01, which ranks eighth all-time in school history, at the BYU-hosted Clarence Robison Invitational… Recorded season bests of 11.19 in the 100 meters at the UCLA-hosted Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational, and 48.95 in the 400 meters, and a personal best of 41.08 in the 4x100-meter relay at the Utah State-hosted Mark Faldmo Invitational… Tallied 12 top-10 finishes on the season, including placing in the top-three five times.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Spent 2015-16, his freshman season, at Utah Valley.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-time letterwinner at Orem (Utah) High School… Was the state runner-up three years in a row in the 400 meters… Earned first-team all-state honors in 2014 and 2015, and second-team all-state honors as a sophomore in 2013… Part of the Tigers’ 4x100-meter relay team in 2015 that won the 4A state title and set a state-record time of 41:46… Also won a state title in the 4x400-meter relay as a senior… Placed second at state in the 200-meter dash in 2015… Set personal-best marks of 21.06 in the 200 meters and 47.06 in the 400 meters… Also played football for one season for the Tigers.

PERSONAL: Son of Kris and Kim Ashby… Has two brothers and one sister… Uncle, Chris Benson, played baseball at Utah Valley from 2008-11… Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Charlotte, N.C., from 2017-2019… Majoring in finance.
