Olivia Trautman spent the 2026 season at Utah State as an assistant coach. Trautman was the primary coach on balance beam and assisted on other events as needed.
During the 2026 season, Trautman helped lead Utah State to both the Mountain West regular season and postseason championships, a first in program history, giving USU nine conference titles all-time. It is the first time in program history that Utah State has won back-to-back conference titles. Junior Mya Witte was named the MW Championship MVP after placing first on beam with a career-high 9.950, which is tied for the second-highest score on the event in program history, and one of the top eight beam scores ever at Utah State.
Utah State also advanced to the second round of NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2022. It was the program’s 29th NCAA Regional appearance all-time.
Utah State finished the 2026 campaign with a 19-8 record as those 19 victories are the sixth-most in program history and most since 1986. USU had 16 regular season wins, which is tied with the 1986 club for the fourth-most in program history, and the Aggies began the year with a 15-4 record, which is the second-best start to a season in program history. USU posted an 8-0 home record during the 2026 season, marking just the fourth time in program history that USU has gone undefeated at home.
Utah State scored 196.000 or better in six straight meets during the 2026 season, which is a school record, while its seven overall scores of 196.000 or better is tied with the 2021 and 2022 teams for the most in school history. USU’s best score of the season was a 196.875 at Southern Utah, which is its third-highest score ever. USU also posted a 196.650 in a home win against No. 25 Oregon State, which is its third-highest home score and 10th-highest overall, and scored 196.325 in a home win against Boise State, which is the 10th-highest home score in school history.
Utah State scored 49.325 on bars against No. 25 Oregon State, which is tied for the fifth-best bars score in program history and scored 49.175 on vault at Southern Utah, which is tied for the sixth-best vault score in school history.
Utah State finished the 2026 season ranking first in the Mountain West with a team National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 195.905. USU was also first in the MW on floor with an NQS of 49.125, first in the MW on bars with an NQS of 48.982, first in the MW on beam with an NQS of 48.9355, and second in the MW on vault with an NQS of 48.866.
Utah State began the 2026 campaign by placing second at the Best of Utah Meet with 195.825. That score is its second-highest season-opening score in program history. It is just the second time in the seven-year history of the Best of Utah Meet that USU has placed second.
Utah State had six gymnasts earn first-team All-Mountain West honors during the 2026 campaign in junior Sydney Jelen (beam), junior Nyla Morabito (vault), junior Isabella Vater (floor), junior Mya Witte (beam), sophomore Olivia Orengo (bars), and sophomore Lundyn VanderToolen (bars). Jelen also earned second-team All-MW honors on bars. USU also had seven gymnasts combine to win 13 weekly MW awards during the year.
Utah State had five gymnasts ranked in the top 100 on their respective events in Morabito (vault), Witte (beam), Jelen (beam), Vater (floor) and VanderToolen (bars). Morabito’s 9.823 vault average is tied for the fourth-best in program history. VanderToolen finished the season with the seventh-best bars average in program history at 9.817, while Witte posted the ninth-best beam average at 9.825, Jelen posted the 10th-best bars average at 9.808, and Vater had the 14th-best floor average in school history at 9.843. Furthermore, Orengo’s 9.812 bars average is the eighth-best all-time.
Along with Witte’s 9.950 on beam at the Mountain West Championships, Jelen scored a career-high 9.925 on bars against No. 25 Oregon State, which is tied for the 11th-highest bars score in program history.
As a team, Utah State averaged 49.002 on bars during the 2026 season, which ranks second all-time in school history. USU also averaged 49.137 on floor, which is the third-best single-season average in program history, 48.898 on vault, which is the fifth-best average in school history, and 48.915 on beam, which is the sixth-best average all-time.
Morabito won 10 vault titles during the 2026 campaign to set the single-season school record, while her 13 total titles are the fifth-most by a junior. For her career, she won 13 vault titles, which is tied for the third-most in program history.
Trautman came to Utah State after spending the past two years at Oklahoma, where she served as a sports career pathways graduate assistant and interim director of operations during the 2024-25 season, helping the Sooners to their seventh National Championship, and as a student assistant coach during the 2023-24 campaign.
As a student-athlete, Trautman was a member of Oklahoma's 2019, 2022 and 2023 NCAA National Championship teams and was the 2023 NCAA Vault Champion. The Champlin, Minnesota, native was the 2019 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, a 10-time NCAA All-American, four-time Big 12 individual champion and a four-time Academic All-Big 12 first-team selection.
Trautman is one of just 10 Sooners to win an individual national championship and ranks fourth all-time in school history with five career perfect 10s. She was a three-time NCAA Regional Champion and a two-time WCGA All-American.
Trautman graduated from Oklahoma in the spring of 2023 with her bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science with a minor in psychology and earned her master’s of adult in higher education, intercollegiate athletic administration from OU in the spring of 2025.
