Sarah (Landes) Jansson is in her first year as Assistant Athletics Director for Administration for Utah State Athletics. Overall, it is her 10th year with the department.
In her new role, Jansson will serve as a strategic advisor to Walker and Utah State Athletics leadership, helping advance organizational priorities, strategic initiatives and operational effectiveness across the department. She will work closely with leaders throughout athletics and the university to coordinate complex initiatives, evaluate organizational needs, facilitate cross-functional collaboration and provide recommendations that support informed decision-making.
Jansson will additionally represent the athletics director in meetings, committees, planning sessions and institutional initiatives as assigned, while serving as a liaison between executive leadership and internal and external stakeholders.
Jansson joined Utah State Athletics in 2016 and has served in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility. She has been the department's Director of Development since July 2022, where she has raised more than $5 million in philanthropic donations, closed 68 gifts of $25,000 or more, including 13 gifts of at least $100,000, and established seven new scholarship endowments. She has also played key roles in fundraising and strategic initiatives involving the Show Me initiative, Reach & Rise campaign, facility enhancements and sport-specific priorities.
Prior to becoming Director of Development, Jansson served as an athletics development officer from 2019-22 and assistant director of development from 2018-19. Her Utah State experience also includes roles in partnership services, marketing and event operations.
A two-time Utah State graduate, Jansson earned bachelor's degrees in marketing and exercise science in 2016 and a master's degree in physical and sport education in 2024. She was a four-year letterwinner on the Aggie gymnastics team from 2012-15.
A native of Edmond, Okla., Jansson resides in Smithfield, Utah, with her husband Olli, and their dog Luka.
