Sammi Stuart is entering her fourth season with Utah State after being hired as an assistant coach in Februrary of 2015.
Stuart serves as the recruiting coordinator, as well as overseeing the Aggie defense. She also puts together scouting reports for opponents and coordinates all aspects of film.
Stuart was a member of the coaching staff that led a team of Mountain West All-Stars to a second-place finish at the 2017 European Global Challenge. The finish was the best result for the team in the history of the tournament.
Stuart joined the Aggies by way of Arizona State, where she was an assistant coach with the Sun Devils since the 2008 season. In Tempe, Stuart was part of the staff that led the Sun Devils to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances from 2012-14. Her day-to-day responsibilities included scouting reports, coordinating video and statistics and working with the liberos, the defense and passing.
Prior to her position at ASU, Stuart was the Director of Volleyball Operations at Brigham Young University for the women’s team where her role encompassed all aspects of the program’s video and statistical programs.
Stuart is a 2006 graduate of Utah State, where she was a member of the Aggie women’s basketball team from 2003-05 and was given the team’s Off-Season Conditioning Award following the 2004 season. Stuart appeared in 19 games for the Aggies on the basketball court.
Stuart has another tie to the University as her monther, Cindy (Perkins) Stuart, was the head coach of the women’s basketball team from 1978-1982.
