Soccer Drops Game To Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - - USU's women's soccer team was shutout in its second consecutive game as it loss to Cal Poly 3-0 Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Aggies to 3-10 on the year and 1-4 in conference play. Cal Poly moved to 8-6-1 overall and 3-2 in the Big West.

Utah State only managed one shot on goal the entire first half while the Mustangs aimed at the net ten times. Cal Poly scored at the 38:59 mark when Megan Schlegal found the net on an unassisted goal to take Cal Poly into the half leading 1-0.

In the second half it was Cal Poly who again dominated play and allowed the Aggies just two shots on goal. Cal Poly scored two minutes into the half as Jen Brick knocked one in with help from Katie Bowe. CP turned in its final goal of the day at the 72:01 mark when Sandy Oceguera kicked the ball over goalkeeper Michaela Hawes' hands to deliver the Mustangs a 3-0 shutout.

Utah State will return home for it's final two home games of the season next week. The Aggies will play Pacific Fri., Oct. 27 at 4 p.m., and Long Beach State Sun., Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.
