Box Score

MOSCOW, Idaho - Utah State's women's volleyball team, ranked 19th in the country, lost its final game of the regular season at the University of Idaho tonight in three games by final scores of 15-9, 15-10, 15-13 to fall to 21-9 on the year and 10-6 in the Big West Conference. Idaho improved to 15-12 on the season and 6-10 in league play with the win.

"We just did not play well as a team tonight," commented USU head coach Tom Peterson. "I thought we would come out with a little more energy than we did despite not practicing very well as of late, but that didn't happen. We now have to regroup and hope we can get a spot in the NCAA Tournament."

Seniors Amy Crosbie (Visalia, Calif.) and Denae Mohlman (Shoreline, Wash.) had 13 and 11 kills each as USU hit just .124 as a team with 47 kills and 28 errors. Crosbie also lead the team defensively with 18 digs, while junior Michelle Matheson (Moreno Valley, Calif.) had a team-high four blocks. The Vandals hit .243 overall and were led by Jenny Kniss' 20 kills.

Utah State will now wait for the NCAA Tournament pairings to come out to find out if the Aggies will be playing in the postseason tournament for the first time in school history.
