Utah State's men's tennis team lost its second straight road match of the year after it fell to the University of Utah, 6-1, Saturday afternoon.
Only senior Andy Madersbacher won for the Aggies in his singles match against the Utes' Nicholas Yip. Madersbacher (Kramsach, Austria) defeated Yip in a three-set match at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6.
The loss drops Utah State to 0-2 on the season as four Aggies lost in straight sets in singles. Senior Tim Burrell (Salt Lake City) fell in three games to Daniel Carlsson at the No. 3 spot, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2. Utah, which won every doubles match, is now 1-0 on the year.
USU will continue its season-opening road stint on Feb. 8 when it faces Brigham Young in Provo.
