LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's soccer split its weekend home series, dropping Sunday's game to Cal State Northridge, 2-0, after shutting out Pacific on Friday. The Aggies' record now stands at 6-9-1 overall and 3-5-0 in the Big West Conference with two games left to play in the 2001 season.
USU freshman goalkeeper Megan Mills played her second complete game of the season, posting five saves and allowing two goals on the afternoon.
Melissa Cleal scored Cal State Northridge's two goals, including being credited with an own goal 10:27 in the game. Her second score came with 24 minutes gone in the first half. CSN took 11 shots on the afternoon.
The Aggies took nine shots in the match, with eight shots coming in the second half. Brigid Turner took three shots, while Megan Edge and Amber Tracy each shot twice. Becky Ward, Kennon Roeber and Jessica Ebner each took one shot.
"I'm disappointed we can't seem to put together 90 minutes of soccer," head coach Jen Kennedy Croft said. "I'm trying to get our team to understand we can play with anyone in the Big West. We're working hard on realizing how good we are, but it's a mental block we need to overcome."
USU concludes its season with two final home matches, as the Aggies face Utah on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m., and take on Idaho in Big West Conference action Sunday, Nov. 4 at noon.
