Volleyball Defeats Cal State Fullerton In Four Games

FULLERTON, Calif. - Utah State's women's volleyball team improved to 7-4 on the season and 4-1 in the Big West Conference with a four-game win at Cal State Fullerton tonight by scores of 30-25, 29-31, 30-24, and 30-22. With the win, USU now has a season-high three-match winning streak. With the loss, the Titans dropped to 7-6 on the year and 3-3 in league play.

Senior outside hitter Lisa Borom (Las Vegas, Nev.) posted a career-high 28 kills to go along with eight digs and three blocks as she hit .373 in the match. Senior middle blocker Michelle Matheson (Moreno Valley, Calif.) was the only other Aggie with double-digits kills as she had 10.

As a team, Utah State hit .279 in the match as compared to .173 for Cal State Fullerton. USU also had two more digs than the Titans and outblocked CSF 9.5 to 2.0.

Utah State will return home this Thursday to face No. 11 Pacific at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum at 7 p.m. USU will also host Cal State Northridge on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
