IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine Anteaters shutout the Utah State women's soccer team in Irvine, Calif., Sunday, 7-0. The Aggies' record drops to 3-6-1 overall and 0-2 in the Big West, while the Anteaters improve to 4-3-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the league.
Goalkeeper Tracy Brady recorded six saves on the afternoon, including five in the second half. Brady allowed seven goals in 90 minutes of play, the most goals the Aggies have allowed in a game this season.
The Aggies took 11 shots but failed to score, marking the third time this season they've been shut out. Brigid Turner, Kennon Roeber, Katie Karlson and Amber Tracy each took two shots on the afternoon.
UCI reeled off four goals in the final 11 minutes, including a final score with one second left in the contest. Overall, UCI took 20 shots in the game, as Natalie Franklin scored twice for the Anteaters, and Gina Hintz contributed a goal and three assists.
USU will attempt to end its three-game losing streak Friday as it hosts UC Riverside in a 3 p.m. Big West Conference game. The Aggies are also home Sunday, Oct. 13 at noon against Cal State Fullerton.
