STOCKTON, Calif. - Utah State women's volleyball lost a three-game match at No. 17 Pacific Saturday night by scores of 26-30, 26-30, 24-30. With the loss, USU falls to 15-8 on the season and 10-4 in the Big West Conference, while Pacific is now 22-7 overall and 13-3 in league play. Utah State had defeated Pacific, 3-2, on Oct. 12 in Logan, when the Tigers were ranked No. 12 in the nation.
USU's Lisa Borom (Las Vegas, Nev.), a senior outside hitter, and junior outside hitter Shauni Fluckiger (Hyrum, Utah) each posted 11 kills for the Aggies, while Borom also contributed 10 digs. Senior outside hitter Michelle Matheson (Moreno Valley, Calif.) hit .476 on the night, with 10 kills in 21 attacks, and added one service ace and five digs. Pacific's Jamie Hamm hit .581, with 19 kills. Hamm also had a game-high 11 digs.
The Aggies hit .240 on the night, while Pacific posted a .352 attack percentage, including hitting .410 in the first game.
Utah State faces Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho, on Tuesday at 7 p.m., before hosting Long Beach State Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and UC Irvine Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
