LOGAN, Utah (AP) - - Utah State rallied back from a five-point halftime deficit behind 20 points from Desmond Penigar to defeat Idaho State 64-59 Wednesday night. The Aggies (3-0) won their home opener for the eighth straight season, and extended their home-winning streak to 24 games. The Bengals (2-2) got 19 points from Jeremy Brown and 10 from Mamo Rafiq, but no other ISU player reached double digits. Penigar, who scored 22 points in last week's victory at Utah, became the first USU player to score more than 20 in back-to-back games since Tony Brown accomplished the feat in the Aggies' first two games of last season. Penigar went 7 of 14 from the field, 6 of 8 from the line and added seven rebounds. Brown finished with 12 points - 10 of them in the second half. After the Aggies took a 10-4 lead in the first five minutes of the game, the Bengals went on a 24-8 run over the next 12 minutes to build a 10-point advantage. Utah State trailed 30-25 at halftime, but tied the score 37-37 on a 3-pointer from Brown at 16:12 and never trailed again although ISU trimmed a 12-point Aggie lead down to 62-59 with two seconds left.
