Utah State's men's tennis team had its two-mtach winning streak stopped with a narrow 4-3 loss to Idaho on Sunday. The Aggies fell to 2-5 on the season.
Utah State jumped out early winning all three doubles matches to gain the one doubles point. The Aggies also received singles wins from Ryan Burbidge at number four and Dan Baird at number six. However, Idaho claimed the other four singles matches, including two three-set matches to gain the win.
Baird's win pushed his spring individual record to 4-3, while Burbidge improved to 3-4 this spring. Two Aggies lost three-set matches including number one player Andy Madersbacher, who fell 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 and Tad Hinze, who lost 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 at number five singles.
Utah State will return to the court with home matches against Weber State on Wednesday and Montana State on Thursday. Both of those matches are scheduled for the Sports Academy and Raquet Club and will begin at 1:30 p.m.
