Men's Tennis Drops First Round Match

OJAI, Calif. - Utah State's men's tennis team had its season end in the first round of the Big West Championships with a 4-0 loss to Boise State here on Thursday. The Aggies finished the year 5-10, while Boise State improved to 10-13.

Last year USU had its season end in the second round of the tournament against Boise State by an identical 4-0 score.

USU lost two doubles matches to go one point down and then saw Boise State win three singles matches to clinch the victory. The final doubles match and the other three singles contests were called off after the match was decided.

Jonah Nelson, Tim Burrell, Ryan Burbidge lost at the number two, three and four singles. All three matches were decided in two sets.

USU's Andy Madersbacher and Clayton Thomas lost at the number one doubles slot while Nelson and Burell fell at the number two doubles position.
