UTAH STATE SOCCER GETS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
RENO, Nev. - Utah State's women's soccer team got its first win of the season on Friday, Sept. 7 against Nevada. Senior Becky Ward knocked in the game-winning goal to give USU the 2-1 victory.
Sophomore Amber Tracy put Utah State on the board first, posting a goal just two and a half minutes into the game. Nevada's Patricia Garrick answered with a goal four minutes later in the period. The game was a stalemate until Ward scored with 14 minutes remaining.
The Aggies took 14 shots in the game, while UNR managed just six. Jessica Gregg kept busy protecting the Wolf Pack goal, posting 11 saves. Aggie goalkeeper Tracy Brady had one.
With the win, USU's record improves to 1-2 on the season. The Aggies will look to notch two more wins when they face Delaware and Wisconsin-Green Bay on Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15, respectively. Both games will be played at the Weber State Tournament in Ogden.
