SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -
Utah State's men's tennis team dropped to 1-2 on the season after they fell to in-state rival Utah 6-1 Saturday night. The Aggies won one out of six singles matches but failed to win any doubles matches against the Utes.
USU's lone singles victory came from Jason Trask, who defeated Utah's Jonathan Englebrecht 7-5, 7-5. Trask remains undefeated on the season at 3-0 in singles play.
"It was a good win for Jason [Trask]," coach Chris Wright said. "He played solid, maybe not his best, but he got the win. The desire was there for us, but Utah was at home and they won early and got the momentum which was important for them."
USU's next match is scheduled for Feb. 8 at Montana State.
