LOGAN, Utah - Despite two goals by Brigid Turner and 10 saves from goalkeeper Megan Mills, Utah State (6-6-2) soccer lost at UC Riverside (8-4-1) here Friday. The loss puts USU's Big West Conference record at 0-3-0 in its second week of league play, while UC Riverside moves to 2-0-1 on the season.

Turner scored the first goal of the game with nearly 24 minutes gone, putting the Aggies up 1-0 until UCR answered with a goal from Renee Scachetti in the 35th minute. The teams remained tied until just two minutes after halftime, when Turner scored her second goal of the day and 10th of the season. Freshman Chanel Blaquiere picked up her second assist of the year on Turner's second goal. The Aggies held the lead for about 12 minutes, when UCR forward Lisa Jensen scored. Neither team hit the net again, until the Jensen scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute.

The Highlanders' goalkeeper, Katie Blank, posted five saves in the second half, while Mills recorded six of her 10 on the day in the second half. UCR outshot the Aggies, 24 to 13 in the match, taking 13 shots on goal to USU's eight.

The match was USU's third overtime contest on the season, and the Aggies' second loss in overtime. Four of USU's six losses this year have been by one goal.

Utah State continues its Big West Conference road trip Sunday at 2 p.m. against No. 25 Cal State Fullerton. The Titans were 8-1-1 and 2-0-0 entering Friday's game against Idaho.
