FULLERTON, Calif. - Brigid Turner's 11th goal of the season and Megan Mills' seven saves on the afternoon weren't enough for Utah State soccer Sunday, as the Aggies lost at No. 25 Cal State Fullerton, 2-1. USU's record now stands at 6-7-2 overall and 0-4 in the Big West, while the Titans' are 10-1-1 on the year and 4-0 in league play.
Turner scored off an assist from Amber Tracy in the 22nd minute, putting USU up, 1-0. The Aggies held the lead until four minutes before halftime, when CSF's Erica Jacalone tied the game at 1-1. The score remained tied until CSF's Allison Bowman scored the game-winning goal with 14 minutes left to play, giving the Titans the 2-1 lead.
Turner took two shots Sunday, both on goal, and is now just two goals shy of tying the Utah State record for goals in a season (13). Tracy, Shaylee Hogge, Lacey Poulton and Charlsie Harris also recorded shots on goal. Mills posted seven saves on the afternoon, including six in the first half.
USU was outshot 18-13, and CSF took nine shots on goal in the match. The Aggies' current five-game skid is their longest of the season, and four of those five losses have been by one goal.
