Marsh Leads USU Tennis Effort at BYU Friday

PROVO, Utah - Utah State's Andy Marsh earned the Aggies' lone singles win in the second day of the Brigham Young University Invitational on Friday. Friday also marked the opening day of doubles play at the tournament. USU was 1-3 in singles play and 1-4 in doubles action.

Marsh opened play on Friday by beating fellow Aggie Brandon Butler, 7-5, 2-6, 7-5. Marsh will face Jason Herrud, an independent player, Saturday in the semifinal round of the consolation bracket.

In the main draw of doubles on Friday the Aggies were 0-3. The tandem of Brandon Butler and Andy Marsh did get a victory against against Okoh/Swan of Idaho State, in the back draw of doubles play.

The Aggies continue play at the BYU Invitational on Saturday.
