MOSCOW, Idaho - Senior Brigid Turner scored three goals and led Utah State soccer to a 3-0 win at Idaho Sunday. USU ended the year at 8-9-3 overall and 2-6-1 in the Big West Conference. Idaho finished its season with a 2-14-3 overall record and was 0-8-1 in league play.

Turner's hat trick was her second of the season, as she'd scored three goals against Southern Utah on Sept. 13. Turner posted four hat tricks in her four years at Utah State; just two other players have scored three goals in a match, each of them managing the feat once. Also, Turner set a new school record for goals (15) and points (32) in a season (15). Former Aggie Jayme Gordy held each of those records, scoring 13 goals and 28 points in 1998.

The first goal, scored just two minutes into the match, came off an assist from Heather Arnell, her third assist of the year.

"It was a great win, and a good way to end the season," head coach Jen Kennedy Croft said. "Turner scored three really pretty goals, especially the first. Heather Arnell just nailed the ball and Turner headed it in for the first goal."

Turner's second goal was in the 26th minute of the match, and USU led 2-0 at halftime. Utah State scored again with just 16 seconds left in the game.

USU goalkeepers Megan Mills and Amy Johnson teamed for their second combined shutout of the season. Mills posted one save on three shots in the first half, while Johnson recorded two saves on five shots in the second half.

Utah State's .475 overall winning percentage on the season is the best in the program's seven-year history, besting the .471 (8-9) record set in 1999, but the Aggies' 2-6-1 (.278) record in the Big West is the worst since 1997 (1-5, .167). USU recorded five shutout victories in 2002, the most in school history.
