SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Despite senior Andreas Madersbacher's win in the No. 1 singles match, Utah State's men's tennis team could not pull out a victory over the Cal Poly Mustangs on Saturday. The Aggies lost to Cal Poly 6-1. The loss drops the men's record to 4-6 overall.

The Mustangs swept the Aggies en route to earning the doubles point, as Madersbacher/Thomas, Nelson/Butler and Trask/Peterson were all defeated by scores of 8-6, 8-6 and 8-4, respectively. Madersbacher was USU's lone winner in the singles round. Sophomore Jason Trask was the only Aggie to take his opponent to three sets, but in the end lost his second match of the spring season.

Utah State will face the University of California at Santa Barbara on Sunday. The Gauchos own a 5-4 record and are coming off a 6-1 win over Big West Conference defending champions Pacific.
