LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's tennis team won three singles matches and two doubles matches to edge out Nevada-Reno 4-3 Friday afternoon at the Sports Academy. The Aggies improved to 5-10 on the season with the win.

Leading the Aggies to victory, Andreas Madersbacher defeated Nevada's Chad Stoloff in three sets 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 at the number one spot. Jason Trask shut out Jason Yelley 6-0, 6-0 in the number three match, while Jordan Butler defeated McClure Wallace 6-4, 6-4 at number four.

In doubles play, Madersbacher and Clayton Thomas defeated Stoloff and Yelley 9-8 in the number one match and Steve Peterson and Trask beat Brett Bitzer and Ivan Anderson 8-3.

"Everybody played hard today," head coach Christian Wright said. "I cannot criticize anybody for not putting the effort out there. I told them they should walk away feeling good about this. It was gratifying to me to win as banged up as we are and for us to come in and take care of the match."

On Saturday, March 16 the Aggies will host Sacramento State at 9:30 a.m. at the Sports Academy. Due to Sacramento State's schedule, the match will feature only fours singles matches and one doubles match.
