LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's Andreas Madersbacher and Jason Trask posted singles victories Thursday afternoon but it was not enough as the men's tennis team fell to in-state rival Weber State 5-2 in Logan. The Aggies, playing their first home match since Jan. 18, dropped to 4-10 on the season, while Weber State improved to 2-5.

Madersbacher defeated Daniel Salvato 6-4, 6-4 at number one singles, while Trask posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Weber State's Phillip Ivanov in the number three match.

In doubles play, Trask teamed with Steve Peterson defeated Vlad Bahreneu and Daniel Abeaboeru from Weber State 8-3. The Wildcats won the other two doubles matches as well as four singles contests to give them the 5-2 victory.

"We beat them in Vegas, they beat us here at home and we play them in April in Ogden," said head coach Chris Wright. "We look forward to going down there and I feel like we will be able to get that. The same exact thing happened last year, so I do not know what the deal is with our home court."

USU will host Nevada-Reno and Sacramento State Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 at the Sports Academy.
