LOGAN, Utah - Craig Hislop will join the Utah State Aggies Radio Network as a color analyst for the 2002 football season it was announced by USU director of athletics Rance Pugmire.

Hislop will join play-by-play announcer Al Lewis for football broadcasts on the seven-station network beginning with this Saturday's opener against Utah. Hislop is no stranger to Utah State having grown up in Logan, graduating from the University, and then serving as the school's sports information director from 1972-93.

"Craig is a walking encyclopedia of Aggie athletics and Utah State University in general," Pugmire said. "Combining Craig and Al together gives us a great combination of history, enthusiasm and talent. With our announcers, the new frequencies and our new agreement with the Cache Valley Radio group, I'm more excited about our radio broadcasts than ever."

USU expanded its radio network this season to reach Aggie fans in different parts of the state. As always, USU games can be heard in Logan on KVNU 610 AM and KVFX 94.5 FM. This year Aggie broadcasts can also be heard in Salt Lake City (98.3 FM), Ogden (106.3 FM), Bear Lake (102.3 FM), Randolph (105.5 FM), and Utah County (104.7 FM).

Hislop has worked as an analyst for football and basketball with SportsWest Television broadcasting Utah State and Mountain West Conference games for the past three years. While serving as USU's SID, he spent 15 years calling the play-by-play for both football and basketball.

"In broadcasting, there is nothing like following the same team all year long," Hislop said. "I haven't done that for a few years. I am very excited about doing that and to be working with Al Lewis."
