LOGAN, Utah - Junior Amber Tracy (Hyrum, Utah) broke a 2-2 tie with a 40-yard shot in the 67th minute as Utah State beat Air Force, 3-2, in a non-conference women's soccer match Friday at the Air Force Academy's Cadet Soccer Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo. With the win, USU improves to 4-1-2 on the season, which is the best start ever in the program's seven years. It was also the Aggies first road win of the season. Air Force dropped to 3-4 on the season with the loss.

Offense was the word of the day as the team's combined for 54 total shots and 27 shots on goal. Utah State fired five shots on goal in the first 15 minutes of the game including senior Brigid Turner's (Las Vegas, Nev.) sixth goal of the season from junior Lacey Poulton (Salt Lake City, Utah) in the 12th minute. Each team had eight shots on goal in the first half, but USU held a 1-0 lead.

Utah State took a 2-0 lead in the 55th minute on sophomore Heather Arnell's (Kaysville, Utah) fourth goal of the season from junior Ally Clegg (Bountiful, Utah). Air Force, however, came back as junior Leigh-Anne Withers scored two goals in six minutes to tie the game at 2-2.

In the 67th minute, Tracy broke the tie with her second goal of the season and first game-winner. Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Mills (Sandy, Utah) made 12 saves for Utah State while Air Force goalkeeper J.J. Wolfe had 10 saves.

Utah State will continue its road trip at Wyoming on Sun., Sept. 22, which will be its second of five straight road games before returning home.
