LOGAN, Utah - Utah State (1-1-1) women's soccer posted the second-ever double overtime tie in its history Friday, as the Aggies and Sacramento State ended 110 minutes of soccer at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field with a score of 1-1.

Utah State scored early in the second half as Brigid Turner contributed her second goal of the season. Heather Arnell picked up an assist on the play, deflecting the USU corner kick to Turner. The Aggies held Sacramento State scoreless until 3:32 left in the match, when Lisa Wrightman scored an unassisted goal. Utah State goalkeeper Megan Mills faced just five shots on goal in the game.

"We need to put together 90 minutes of soccer," head coach Jen Kennedy Croft said. "It's just our third game, but we're communicating well and given the rain and slick field, we played well until the very end of regulation. Megan had an awesome save in the first half to keep it 0-0 at half."

Making the double overtime tie worse than kissing your sister were the Aggies' 13 shots on goal in the match, as Amy Seely had 12 saves. The USU defense managed to hold the Hornets to five shots on goal in the game.

USU's only other double overtime tie game came last season at Weber State. The Aggies and WSU played to a 1-1 finish in that game, which coincidentally, had the same head official as Friday's contest.

The Aggies continue their weekend homestand Sunday against Eastern Washington (0-3) at 3 p.m. Eastern Washington fell at Idaho Friday, 1-0. Overall, USU is 0-1 against EWU, losing in Cheney, Wash., in 2000. All Utah State home soccer matches are held at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field is located on 1400 North, at approximately 1100 East in Logan.
