LOGAN, Utah - Brandon Butler and Andrew Marsh recorded singles victories, but it was not enough as Utah State's men's tennis team fell to 0-2 on the season after losing a home match to Montana State, 5-2 on Thursday night. The match was the season-opener for the Bobcats.

MSU swept the three doubles matches by identical 8-6 scores to record the doubles point. Butler, playing at number four singles and Marsh, at number five singles, were the only victorious Aggies. Butler needed three sets to dispose of Braden Olson as he won 7-5, 3-6, 6-3. Marsh had two close sets, winning 7-6 and 6-4.

Jason Trask, the Aggies' number two singles player, pushed his match to three sets before losing. Traske lost the first set 6-4, but came back to win the second set 6-2. His opponent, Marek Gambicki, then won the third set 6-2.

The Aggies will continue the season with a match at Utah on Friday at 5 p.m.
