Box Score Charlsie Harris scored the game-winning goal in the 96th minute of overtime as Utah State (9-4-0, 3-0) defeated Idaho (2-7-4, 0-3) 1-0 Sunday. The win was Utah State's fifth straight and ninth overall this season. This year's squad is the first in school history to record nine wins and to win their first three league matches. Last years team went 8-9-3.

USU controlled the match much of the first half. USU's shot by Amber Tracy 45-seconds into the match sparked a shooting barrage which led to USU out shooting the Vandals 15-2 in the opening period.

"I was happy with the opportunities we created," said head coach Heather Cairns. " We just weren't able to convert when we had good looks at the goal."

In the second half Idaho picked up the pressure on USU as it recorded two quick shots and kept the ball on USU's end the majority of the half. In spite of recording three shots in the half, the Vandals were unable to put a shot on goal. According to records kept, that marks the first time in the program's seven years the Aggies haven't allowed a shot on goal. USU had 10 shots on goal during the match.

"Our team defense really kept us in the game," explained Cairns. "Melissa Baggaley did great on the back line and Elizabeth Masson started winning balls in the air."

Harris' scoring opportunity came on an odd-man scramble in front of Idaho's goal. The ball was deflected out to Harris who punched it past IU goalkeeper Lindsay Smith. The goal was Harris' third overall and her second game-winning goal this year.

The shutout was Megan Mills seventh of the year. Her goals-against average dropped to 0.53. The win also marks the second-straight overtime win for the Aggies this season. No other Aggie team has ever notched two-straight overtime wins.

The Aggies look for their fourth-straight Big West Conference win as they travel to Long Beach State, Thursday Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.
