STOCKTON, Calif. - Hannes Schenk recorded his first singles win as an Aggie as Utah State men's tennis won its first-ever meeting with Creighton 4-3 Monday. With the win Utah State improved to 4-8 on the season, while Creighton fell to 1-11.

In singles action, Schenk, playing in the No. 1 spot, defeated Creighton's Kevin Otto, 6-4, 6-2. Jason Trask, playing at the No. 2 spot, improved his spring singles record to 4-7 with a win against Tom McCarthy, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). The Aggies then dropped the No. 3 through No. 5 singles before Ryan Bair secured a win at the No. 6 spot by defeating Evan Kimura, 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles action, the Aggies took the overall team point from the Bluejays with key wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions. Trask and Brandon Butler struck first for the Aggies when they defeated Creighton's Meens and Gonzalez at the No. 2 spot, 8-4. The Aggies' tandem of Bair and Schenk then secured the team point when they defeated Pignatai and Kimura, 8-1, at the No. 3 spot. Unfortunately, the Aggies missed the doubles sweep as Andrew Marsh and Jordan Butler were defeated by Otto/McCarthy, 8-5, in the No. 1 spot.

The Aggies' next match is against Cal Poly, Tuesday, March 11 at 10 a.m.
