Men's Tennis Falls To Idaho State 5-2 Wednesday

LOGAN, Utah - Andrew Marsh recorded his second straight singles match win, but it wasn't enough as Utah State men's tennis fell to Idaho State 5-2 Wednesday afternoon. With the loss Utah State dropped the season series with Idaho State 2-1. In their first match-up of the season the Bengals defeated the Aggies in Pocatello, Idaho, 5-2. The Aggies then evened the series with a 6-1 win at the UNLV Invitational.

In singles action, Marsh improved his spring season record to 9-8 as he defeated Jemre Okoh in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5. The Aggies' Jonah Nelson was also victorious as he beat the Bengal's Butch Stavridis at No. 2 singles by a final score of 4-6, 6-4, (11-9). Marsh and Jason Trask lead USU with nine wins each this season.

The Aggies were unable to capture the doubles point as they fell at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. The Aggies posted a win at No. 3 doubles as Ryan Bair and Andrew Marsh defeated the Bengal duo of Okoh/Sadek, 8-4.

Utah State now awaits its seeding in the Big West Tournament. That announcement will be made on Friday.
