Softball Falls To Long Beach State

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State softball was beaten 9-0 by Long Beach State in its final home game of the season Wednesday. With the loss, the Aggies fell to 7-38, 2-16 on the season. Long Beach State improved to 26-17, 14-3.

Long Beach State scored all nine of their runs in the top of the fourth, led by Arleigh Thorp's two home runs. 49er Meredith Cervenka pitched a shutout as she grabbed her 11th straigh win. Cervenka has allowed just two runs in her last 55 innings pitched.

Haven Vance notched the Aggies lone hit, finishing the day 1-2.

The Aggies close their season Friday and Saturday as they travel to Cal Poly for a three-game series.
