LOGAN, Utah - Junior goalie Megan Mills continued her strong play from last season as Utah State defeated Dixie State College, 3-0, in an exhibition contest in St. George Wednesday night.

"We played extremely well tonight," said head coach Heather Cairns. "Dixie is an elite team that is annually ranked in the top five of the junior college polls. To get a win like this is a real confidence booster."

The Aggies got on the board early as they scored on their first two shots, both of which were off corner kicks by Ally Clegg. Junior Lacy Gustaveson, who transferred from Dixie during the off-season, headed a corner kick from Clegg past Dixie goalie Suzy Hunt, 3:52 into the game. USU went up 2-0 less than four minutes later when Kami Kelley knocked in Clegg's second corner kick of the night at 7:42.

Junior Claire Schend scored the Aggies' final goal of the night at 33:14 in the first half. She was assisted by Charlsie Harris. Mills worked the entire game for USU, posting 4 saves.

The Aggies' first regular season match is at Southern Utah, Friday at 5 p.m.
