LAS VEGAS - Utah State dropped its first match of the season Sunday, as the Aggies lost at UNLV, 2-0. The loss breaks the Aggies' three-game win streak dating back to Oct. 27 of last year. USU is now 1-1 on the year, while UNLV improved to 2-0.

"This game was a lot like the SUU game in that we started off slow," said head coach Heather Cairns. "We definitely saw some things that need to be corrected in practice this week before we face Weber."

UNLV's Annii Magliulo broke the scoreless tie in the 21st minute of play, taking a cross pass from the Rebels' Blynnda Bascones to get things started. UNLV sealed the game when Rachael Buscovich's header found the back of the net during the 53rd minute off of Erin Egertson's bi-line cross from the right side .

USU's Ally Clegg took six of the Aggies' 18 shots, including five on goal. Amber Tracy shot four times, while Lacy Gustaveson and Kami Kelley each took two shots on goal. Goalkeeper Megan Mills allowed two goals, but posted 5 saves in the match. UNLV keeper Jenna Huff worked the entire match, and recorded 13 saves, nine in the second half.

Utah State will be back in action on Thursday, September 4 as it travels to Weber State in Ogden, Utah. The match begins at 5 p.m.
