PROVO, Utah - Jason Trask notched a win at number four singles, but that would be the only win the USU men's tennis team would get as Denver rolled to the 6-1 win Saturday. With the loss the Aggies fall to 1-2 on the season, while DU improves to 2-0.
"I thought we played a few solid matches," said head coach Christian Wright. "Denver is a very good team, which they showed Friday night by upsetting No. 61 BYU."
Trask, who improved to 2-0 at number four singles, defeated Urban Ljubic in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. The Aggies' next closest match was at number three singles, where Roshan Rasekhi took DU's Viktor Zetterholm to three sets before falling, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
USU's Lukas Bouton saw his first action of the spring season as he played at the number six singles spot and at number three doubles paired with Roshan Rasekhi. Bouton dropped his singles match, 6-2, 6-1, while he and Rasekhi lost their doubles match, 8-4, to the tandem of Tan and Ljubic.
USU continues its four-match road-trip Jan. 30 at Utah. The match begins at 5 p.m.
