Volleyball Defeats Weber State In Five Games

LOGAN, Utah - Zuzana Cernianska recorded a career-high 30 kills to lead Utah State's women's volleyball team to a five-game win against Weber State here Tuesday night by final scores of 24-30, 30-25, 30-13, 29-31 and 15-10. With the win, USU improves to 5-10 overall, while Weber State falls to 2-17 on the year with the loss.

Utah State has now won six straight matches against the Wildcats and eight straight matches at home against in-state competition dating back to the 1999 season. In fact, WSU was the last in-state opponent to defeat the Aggies at home.

Along with her career-high 30 kills, Cernianska tied her career-high with five service aces to go along with 12 digs and a .391 hitting percentage. Amanda Orgill had her best night as an Aggie, hitting a season-high 17 kills to go along with seven digs, while Dominique Arsenault had a career-high 79 assists. Ingrid Roth added 14 kills and hit .500 in the match, while Kindy Peterson had 13 kills and seven digs and hit .385.

Lindsay Harris led Weber State with 15 kills and a .448 hitting percentage, while Stacy White added 12 kills and 16 digs.

As a team, Utah State hit a season-high .314, while Weber State hit .286. The Aggies also had a season-high 12 service aces in the match as compared to just one for the Wildcats. Overall, USU notched 23 more kills (90-67) and 36 more attacks (204-168) in the match.

Utah State will return to Big West action this weekend with a pair of road matches at Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside.
