LOGAN, Utah - Utah State wide receivers coach Chris Tabor will need to update his business cards as he can add the title of assistant head football coach it was announced by Aggie head coach Mick Dennehy on Wednesday.
Tabor, who has coached wide receivers at Utah State the past two seasons, will continue in that capacity, while assuming the role that opened when David Reeves left USU to become head coach at Rocky Mountain (Mont.) College.
Among his duties will be working as a liaison with the University and athletics departments. He will be involved in team travel, scholarships and admissions among other responsibilities.
"I am real excited about the opportunity," Tabor said. "This gives me a chance to work with the University administration as well as working more closely with the athletics department."
Prior to coming to Utah State ahead of the 2002 season, Tabor was the head coach at Culver-Stocketon, where his team was 6-5 and set school records for points scored (296), touchdowns (39) and total yards (4,003).
Tabor also coached at Missouri (1997-99), Central Methodist (1995-96), Hutchinson Junior College (1994) and Benton High School (1993).
"Where he is right now, with his experiences, especially as a head coach, will be a great aid to me," Dennehy said. "He has dealt with administrative duties throughout his career."
