SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Hungsoon Park recorded the lone singles win for Utah State as the Aggies lost 6-1 at UC Santa Barbara in men's tennis action here Friday. The Aggies fell to 7-8 with the loss and finished their California road trip with a 1-2 mark. UCSB improved to 6-4.
Park posted an easy 6-1, 6-2 victory at number one singles as he improved his record to 9-6 this spring and 14-9 overall. The junior has won four straight matches.
All of the singles matches lasted just two sets. Ryan Bair pushed Matthew Coin to a tie-breaker at number five singles before losing 6-1, 7-5. In doubles, Bair teammed with Lucas Bouton and nearly pulled off a victory at number two, losing 9-8.
Earlier this week Utah State defeated Westmont College 7-0 and lost to Cal Poly 5-2. USU will be off until traveling to Boise State on April 3. While in Boise, the Aggies will also meet Gonzaga on April 4.
