LOGAN, Utah - Lindsay Lauro scored a goal and added an assist to lead Utah State's women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory against Boise State here Friday afternoon. The Aggies improved to 6-8-4 overall and 3-2 in the Western Athletic Conference, while Boise State dropped to 9-7-2 on the season, and 3-3 in league play.

The Aggies led at the half 1-0 after Sierra Smith scored off a cross from Lauro in the twenty-fifth minute of play. Coming into the second half Utah State continued to dominate taking 12 shots to give the Aggies a game total of 21 shots, while holding Boise State to only four.

"We're a good team when we can attack, and we attacked today," said Utah State Head Coach Heather Cairns.

Not only did the Aggies attack well, they also defended well with keeper Kelli Allred making only one save, recording her third shutout this season.

"We made a good effort defensively all around," said Cairns. "We made the effort to defend from our forwards back to try and make them play faster than they wanted to."

Charity Weston and Abby Hunt also added goals in the second half. Lauro scored on a corner kick from Liz Masson that passed the keeper and was put in the goal. Weston followed up her own missed shot to make it 3-0 and continues to lead the team this season in both goals (7) and assists (4). Hunt finished off the game by scoring off a cross from KD Keller with less than a minute to play.

Utah State will be in action again on Sunday at noon when it takes on Idaho at home in its last regular season game of the season. Next week they head to Boise, Idaho to begin play in the WAC Tournament from Nov. 3 -5.
