RUSTON, La. - Zuzana Cernianska recorded 16 kills and 14 digs to lead Utah State's women's volleyball team to a four-game win (30-28, 30-17, 24-30, 32-30) against Louisiana Tech here Monday night.
Utah State improved to 18-11 overall with the win and is now tied with Nevada for third-place in the Western Athletic Conference with a 10-5 league record. Louisiana Tech drops to 15-16 on the year and 2-13 in league play with the loss.
Carolyn Forbush recorded her third straight double-double for Utah State with 14 kills and 11 digs on the night, while Dominique Arsenault added 13 digs and a match-high 45 assists.
Ambra Hayes led Louisiana Tech with 17 kills and eight digs, while Shannon Phillips added 10 kills and five blocks.
Overall, Utah State hit just .098 in the match, but held Louisiana Tech to a .053 hitting percentage as both teams had 36 hitting errors in the contest. USU did record seven more kills (52-45), eight more digs (74-66), and four more team blocks (16-12) in the match, while the Lady Techsters had nine more service aces (12-3).
Utah State will play its final match of the regular season on Sat., Nov. 19 at home against Nevada at 7 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
