INDIAN WELLS, Calif. - Utah State's men's and women's tennis teams lost today in the Big West Championship. The women faced off against No. 1 seed Pacific in quarterfinal play, and lost 5-0. The men entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed and took on No. 3 seed UC Santa Barbara in their first day of play. The men fell 4-0.

The women were able to capture only one victory, and it came at the No. 3 doubles spot. Andrea Barker and Courtney Anderson teamed to take the victory 8-4. With the loss, the women fall to 12-12.

The men were unable to win even one match against UC Santa Barbara. With the win UCSB advances to the semifinal round of play for the fifth straight year, and the men move into the consolation bracket.

Utah State will continue to play Saturday in the consolation brackets. The women will be in action against Cal Poly at 9 a.m. The men will take on Idaho at 2 p.m. The winner of that match will take on UC Riverside in a fifth place match at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
