LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's softball team was honored as the 2005 NCAA statistical champion for double-plays turned, it was announced recently.

The Aggies turned an average of 0.65 double plays per game in 2005 to lead all schools in that category. USU's 34 double plays last season was also a new school record, shattering the previous record of 26 set back in 1992.

Utah State garnered its most wins (23) since 1996 (33).
