OGDEN, Utah - Oscar Ericsson led the Aggies to a 5-2 win over Weber State Wednesday in men tennis. Ericsson won his number one singles point, 6-3, 6-4, and partnered with teammate Jonas Tyden to win the number one doubles point, 8-3, as the Aggies improved to 7-5 on the season.
USU's men went head-to-head with the Wildcats in February of this season and lost 4-3. The Aggies' record with Weber State this season is 1-1 and the teams have added a third match, on Monday, April 23 in Logan at 1pm, at the Sports Academy and Racquet club.
"I like the effort from everyone," said head coach Christian Wright. "We are finding the consistency that we needed."
The Aggies took all three doubles matches and fell only at number three and five singles. Mike Banks won his number six singles point, 6-2, 6-2, extending his winning streak to five. Freshman, Ericsson is now and 8-4 in singles.
The Aggies head to Boise, Idaho, Friday and Saturday, April 13-14 to take on Fresno State and Boise State.
