LOGAN, Utah - After dropping its season opener to Portland, 64-51, the Utah State women's basketball team is back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 19 against Northern Arizona at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. This is the 17th meeting between the Aggies and the Lumberjacks.
Senior guard Ana Pares had a career-high 11 points in the loss to Portland on Nov. 14. Her previous high was 10 also against the Pilots in 2006. The senior was one of three players in double figures along with junior center Lydia Whitehead (12) and senior guard Danyelle Snelgro (15).
Whitehead had a solid Aggie opener. Along with her 12 points, she added 15 rebounds for her first double-double.
Against the Lumberjacks, USU holds a 12-4 lead with the last meeting on Dec. 8, 2007. In that game, USU defeated NAU 65-51.
The Aggies are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 22 against Idaho State at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum at 7 p.m. Against the Bengals, the Aggies hold a slight 13-10 series lead. Last season, Idaho State defeated Utah State in Pocatello, 69-60.
