USU VS. RANKED IN-STATE FOE -- Friday is the 15th time that Utah State is facing an in-state foe ranked in the top 25... It is the second straight season time and the only two times that the Aggies have faced ranked Utah and BYU squads in the same year... However, two other seasons one was in the top 25 while the other was receiving votes (1996 and 1997 - both when Utah was ranked and BYU was receiving votes) and two times when both were receiving votes (1994 and 1999):

CURRENT AGGIE COACHES VS. BYU -- In addition to having one member of the USU coaching staff who coached at BYU (QB coach Kevin McGiven was Off. GA/WR's coach at BYU from 2002-03 and QB coach in 2004), six members of Utah State's coaching staff have faced Utah, either as a coach or a player... Overall, those six members are a combined 14-15 vs. BYU. {see page 2 for more details}
TURBIN AMONG NATION'S LEADERS FOR 50+ YARD SCORING PLAYS -- Sophomore RB Robert Turbin has three scoring plays of 50 yards or more with a school-record 96-yard rush at Utah (Sept. 3), a 50-yard TD rush at Texas A&M (Sept. 19) and a 77-yard TD reception vs. Southern Utah (Sept. 26)... Turbin is one of five Division I players with three or more:
50 + yard scoring plays Ryan Mathews, Fresno State - 5 (69, 68, 60, 60, 55 - all rushing)
Chris Owusu, Stanford - 4 (three kickoff returns for TDs (85, 94 and 91) and 64-yard TD reception).
Darius Marshall, Marshall - 3 (80, 61, 69 - all rushing)
C.J. Spiller, Clemson - 3 (96-yard kickoff return, 63-yard pass reception, 77-yard punt return)
Robert Turbin, Utah State - 3 (96-yard rush, 50-yard rush, 77-yard reception)
BATTLE OF BAND OF BROTHERS -- Utah State has two sets of brothers on its roster: The Igboeli brothers - senior LB Paul and junior CB Washington, and the Erickson brothers - junior OL Preston and freshman OL Parker... Meanwhile, BYU counters with five sets of brothers.
Aggie BrothersErickson - Preston (JR OL) Parker (FR OL)Igboeli - Paul (SR LB) and Washington (JR CB)
Cougar BrothersAlletto - Nick (JR OL) and Terrance (FR OL)Brown - Rhen (FR WR) and Terence (SO OL)Hansen - Braden (RS-FR OL) and Chase (SO LB)Reynolds - Houston (FR OL) and Matt (SO OL)Richardson - Jared (FR LB) and Jordan (RS-FR DL)
ALTA-GETHER NOW -- USU's Erickson brothers and BYU's Hansen brothers are both from Sandy, Utah, both went to Alta HS and the older of both sets went to Snow JC.
OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION -- Upon extensive research by USU media relations' Duke of the Archives Tyler Hutchison, it was found that Utah State's last back-to-back 300-yard passing games was in 2002 and the last consecutive games with 500+ yards of total offense was in 2000 until the Aggies did so in both categories against Texas A&M and Southern Utah... USU had four 300-yard passing outings in a row in 2002... The Aggies haven't have three-straight games with 500 yards of total offense since at least 1968.
FAMILIAR FOES --Friday marks the 79th meeting between Utah State and BYU, both school's second-longest series history, both trailing their respective meetings with Utah (109 meetings between USU and UU / 84 meetings between BYU and UU).
BYU VS. THE WAC -- Utah State is the sixth Western Athletic Conference opponent that BYU has played... The Cougars' 42-33-3 series advantage over USU is only one of two WAC opponents that BYU has a winning record against: Boise State (0-2), Fresno State (4-5), Idaho (1-2), Nevada (4-1-2), San Jose State (5-9),
EACH OTHER'S LAST TIME LIST -- On Utah State's "Last Time" list, BYU is referenced once: the last two USU individuals with 100 yards passing was against BYU in 1996 with Patrick Mullins (11-16, 105) and Matt Sauk (12-25, 169)... Utah State is referenced twice on BYU's "Last Time" list: the last BYU individual to block a field goal was current Aggie sophomore DE Junior Keiaho last season... BYU's last 100+ penalty yards outing was at Utah State last year as well.
