RENO, Nev. - Utah State's women's volleyball team dropped a five-set match here to Nevada Saturday night by scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-18, 22-25, and 7-15 to fall to 10-8 on the season and 2-4 in the Western Athletic Conference. Nevada improved to 6-12 overall and 2-3 in league play with the win.
Sophomore outside hitter Liz McArthur (St. George, Utah) had 12 kills and nine digs to lead Utah State, while sophomore opposite side hitter Emily Kortsen (Hollister, Calif.) had 11 kills and 15 digs.
Utah State finished the match with a .108 (45-28-157) hitting percentage and Nevada hit .133 (61-37-180). UN also had four more digs (76-72) and two more service aces (8-6) in the match, while USU had seven more team blocks (16-9) and four fewer service errors (8-4).
Utah State will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 13 when it plays a non-conference match at Utah Valley beginning at 7 p.m. USU will then return to WAC action on Thursday, Oct. 15 at home against Fresno State at 7 p.m.
