LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball will celebrate its successful 2008-09 campaign with an awards barbecue on Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m. The barbecue will take place outside of the Jim and Carol Laub Academics and Athletics Complex on the patio.
In case of inclement weather, the event will move up to the third floor of the Jim and Carol Laub Academics and Athletics Complex. The price to attend the event is $12 per person. Please RSVP to Aneka Christensen by calling her at 435-797-1851 or emailing her at aneka.christensen@usu.edu.
Utah State will hand out its postseason awards during the banquet.
The Aggies had one of their most successful seasons to date ending the season with a 16-15 record. USU collected its first Western Athletic Conference Tournament win with a 59-58 overtime win against Idaho. The Aggies lost to eventual WAC Tournament champion, Fresno State.
USU will be saying goodbye to four seniors Ana Pares, Danyelle Snelgro, Ndoubme Diop and Shawnta Pope. Snelgro ends her stellar Aggie career as the all-time steal leader at Utah State with 216 grabs. She also ends her career 1,043 points scored which places her fifth all-time.
Senior guard Danyelle Snelgro ended her USU career by becoming the first Aggie to earn first-team all-WAC honors. Snelgro also earned all-Defensive team honors. Fellow senior guard Ana Pares earned second-team all-WAC honors.
