LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball head coach Raegan Pebley announced Monday that she will be even more accessible as the Aggies have joined Twitter.

Coach Pebley and the Utah State women's basketball program can now be reached via her Twitter page. Coach Pebley is the first Utah State coach to enter into the twitter world although the Utah State athletic department does have a Twitter page.

"We have found that many of our fans, alumni, student-athletes and recruits have begun to tap into the Twitter craze," Pebley said. "We are excited to join 'twitter nation' as well so that we can communicate with all of these people in a new way!"

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and receive updates, known as "tweets." "Tweets" are text-based posts of up to 140 characters, displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to other people who are known as "followers." All users must create accounts to join.

"Utilizing twitter is a new avenue for us to talk about Utah State women's basketball, the success of other Aggie and WAC programs, our university and Cache Valley," Pebley said. "Additionally, some of my tweets will be life lessons basketball has taught me as a person, an employee, a coach, a mother and a wife. Our tweets will be simple, to the point, interactive and will allow our fans and recruits a window into our program."

You can follow Coach Pebley and the women's basketball team at twitter.com/UTAHSTATEofmind. Aggie fans can also follow the Utah State athletic program at twitter.com/usuathletics. Several other USU coaches are considering adding Twitter pages, so stay tuned.
