112 / 118 -- USU is taking the field for the 112th season of football in 118 years. The Aggies beat Utah, 12-0, in 1892, but then did not field a team until 1896, when they again only played one game but then played every year since with the exceptions of 1918 when to World War I and influenza cancelled the season and 1943 due to World War II.

A USU WIN WOULD...
• Give Utah State its first 3-3 record to start a season since 1983, when USU lost its first three games of the year, only to bounce back by winning its next three.
• Be the Aggies' second win in a row, their first two-game win streak since the last two games of the 2007 season, beating New Mexico State and Idaho, both on the road.
• Even Utah State's WAC record at 1-1, marking the second time in three years and the fourth time in the Aggies' six years in the league that they've had an even conference record after two WAC games.
• Be the first time in those six years in the WAC that USU won its first road league game of the season, and break the Aggies' seven-game road conference opener losing skein.
• Even the series with Louisiana Tech at 4-4 overall and 2-2 at Ruston.
• Earn USU its second-straight win over LA Tech, the Aggies' first two-game win streak over the Bulldogs since the first two games of the series, 1993-94.
• Be Utah State's first win at Ruston since 1994, snapping a two-game losing skid in the home town of the Squire Creek Peach Festival.
• Improve the Aggies' record against the Bulldogs in October meetings to 3-2, as this is the fifth time overall and fourth in the last five that USU and LTU have met in the Canadian Thanksgiving month (which is on Monday, Oct. 11).
• Give USU its third win in last four games on Oct. 9, improving to winning five of its last seven games on the date and moving to 9-7 on the ninth day of the 10th month.
• Improve USU to 6-9 (.400) against schools from the state of Louisiana.
• Snap the Aggies' five-game losing skein on Louisiana soil, as USU's last win in the Pelican State was a 7-3 victory at LA Tech on Oct. 15, 1994, but have lost five since.
• Move USU to 1-2 on road this season, the Aggies' best road ledger in their first three road games since last going 1-2 in 2004.
• Turn the "A" Blue, which recently received an upgrade with some new, environmentally-safe LED lights.

A USU LOSS WOULD...
• Be Utah State's fifth loss to LA Tech in its last six meetings, falling to 3-5 in the series.
• Deal USU its third-straight loss at Ruston, dropping to 1-3 overall.
• Move the Aggies to 0-3 on the road for the sixth-straight season.
• Be USU's sixth loss in a row on Louisiana soil and drop to 2-7 in games played in the Pelican State.
• As always, be not as good as a win.

Additionally, helmet stickers will be awarded to players, with a "Block A" for academic achievement and community service and a bull head for athletic recognition. All helmets will also have a "71" sticker on the back, honoring USU legend Merlin Olsen, who passed away March 11, 2010.
